Interview with Casper in summer 2025
Casper, how satisfied are you with your past season?
This was already my third FIS season – and overall I am quite satisfied. I was able to improve significantly and score important points, especially in giant slalom. On the other hand, I am not quite as happy with the speed disciplines: I did make progress, but not to the extent that I had hoped.
What was your personal success?
Definitely my improved points tally in giant slalom. All the training paid off and I realised that I am now really competitive in this discipline.
Were there any races that went differently than expected?
Yes, some speed races didn't go as well as I had hoped. I did improve, but not enough to meet my expectations.
In addition to racing, you also worked as a ski instructor – what was that like for you?
It was an exciting experience. I qualified as a state ski instructor and then worked as a ski instructor here in Arlberg. It's a nice change from everyday racing, and I enjoy passing on my knowledge.
What's next for you – what are your plans for the next season?
I will definitely continue to compete in FIS races, but I will also study at the same time. This combination will certainly be challenging and interesting, but I am looking forward to this new phase in my life. In terms of sport, I would of course like to build on my progress in giant slalom and also make a big step forward in the speed disciplines.
