KIGA RACE 2026
KIGA Race 2026 – A Perfect End to the Season
Amid glorious weather, ideal conditions, and a fantastic atmosphere, the KIGA Race 2026 took place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the finish stadium in St. Anton am Arlberg. A total of 46 children took to the starting line and, with great joy and dedication, demonstrated what they had learned this winter.
Numerous parents, grandparents, and spectators created a special atmosphere and made the race a true highlight to conclude the KIGA Snow Days.
The KIGA project is a strong joint initiative of the St. Anton and St. Jakob kindergartens, the Arlberg Ski School, and the Arlberg Ski Club. The goal is to give as many children as possible early access to skiing and to spark their enthusiasm for winter sports.
Many of the children impressively demonstrated during the race how confidently and joyfully they move on skis. Particularly heartening: All the children mastered the course brilliantly—without any dropouts or falls.
For some, this day also marked an important next step: For many, starting elementary school also means beginning training with the Arlberg Ski Club.
A big thank you goes out to all partners and supporters, the dedicated teams at the kindergarten, the Arlberg Ski School, the coaches and helpers at the Arlberg Ski Club, and all the families who made this special day possible.
We look forward to seeing many of the children again this coming winter—on the slopes, at training, and as part of the next generation of the Arlberg Ski Club.
