Report of the 124th General Meeting

Opening and welcome
The 124th General Assembly of Ski-Club Arlberg was opened by the moderator Judith Nagiller. President Josef Chodakowsky warmly welcomed the more than 100 members present and established that the meeting was quorate in accordance with the statutes. Michael Schwärzler and Karl Seeberger were unanimously elected as scrutineers.
Commemoration of deceased members
President Josef Chodakowsky asked those present to observe a minute's silence in memory of the members who had died in the past year. Some of the names of the deceased were read out by proxy, while a complete list of names was displayed.
Talk round I: SCA Sportlertalk
The first round of talks focussed on the experiences and feelings of coaches, young athletes and parents:
Andi Tatschl, youth warden of the St. Anton local branch, presented the five divisions of the association in St. Anton and emphasised the importance of cooperation with schools and kindergartens. He also thanked everyone for their congratulations on his wedding.
Daniel Huber, youth leader of the Lech branch, spoke about his family's support for Ski-Club Arlberg and explained the term "entertrainment", which describes the mixture of entertainment and training.
Brody Kapeller, SCA athlete, talked about his switch to triathlon and emphasised the values of teamwork that he has taken with him from the SCA.
Andreas Strolz, father of two young SCA athletes, compared the club to the frame of a large jigsaw puzzle and emphasised the importance of voluntary work.
Talk round II: SCA local centre talk
In the second round of talks, the chairmen of the local branches had their say:
Peter Mall, chairman of the St. Anton local branch, described it as the "fairground of skiing", as there are a variety of activities and a particularly large number of racing events, from World Cup races to freeride and freestyle championships to the FIS Moguls Competition. He also described the six divisions of his local centre, which offer a wide range of training opportunities, including cross-country skiing.
Peter Scrivener, Chairman of the Lech branch, emphasised the internationality of the members, which is particularly evident at the regular get-togethers. Events such as the "White Ring" in Lech and the "Weiße Rausch" in St. Anton are very important for the Lech branch and the entire SCA.
Anton Dönz, chairman of the local centre in Stuben, reported on the workings of the SCA's smallest local centre. A special highlight in the coming winter will be the Hannes Schneider Memorial Run on 24 January 2024 and the 124th SCA Club Championships on 31 January 2024, both of which will be held under floodlights through the Rauzertobel.
Stefan Jochum, Vice President of the ÖSV and Vice President of the SCA, attended the talk on behalf of Philipp Zangerl, Chairman of the Zürs local section. He spoke about the importance of the Flexen Arena in Zürs as a training centre and as a venue for many races. He also emphasised the legendary regulars' tables of the local branches, especially in Zürs and Lech.
Financial report
Gerhard Eichhorn presented the financial report for the past year. Total income totalled € 705,066, with expenditure amounting to € 732,848. However, the loss of € 27,782 was covered by reserves built up in recent years. Eichhorn thanked the members for their contributions as well as the sponsors, communities and volunteers for their support.
Report of the auditors
Cash auditor Werner Flunger confirmed that the accounts were properly kept and recommended that the actions of the treasurer and the Board of Directors be approved, which was unanimously adopted.
Honours
This year, in addition to the honours for long-standing membership (35, 40, 50 and 60 years) and achievement and sponsorship badges, three new honorary members were also appointed following unanimous confirmation by the General Assembly.

President Josef Chodakowsky and Vice President Stefan Jochum honoured the achievements of the honourees in a humorous speech.
Words of greeting
Mayor Helmut Mall congratulated on the successful General Assembly, emphasised the importance of the SCA for the region and thanked for the support after the mudslide. He is looking forward to the upcoming World Cup race in St. Anton am Arlberg in January 2025.
Hubert Piegger from ASVÖ emphasised the importance of popular sport and praised the work of the SCA.
Michael Huber, President of the Kitzbühel Ski Club, reported on his work on the FIS board and congratulated the honourees. He wished the region better weather in the future.
Miscellaneous
Stefan Jochum drew attention to the Jeep to be won, the new SCA car competition for youth development. Tickets of 50 are now available in the shop and online.
As a small token of thanks, flowers were presented to the presenter Judith Nagiller, to Sennhüttenwirtin Tanja Senn and, on behalf of the Board, to Wilma Himmelfreundpointer.
